hilltop fc complete tournament line-up

We are delighted to confirm that Hilltop FC will participate in the Egri Erbstein Tournament on the weekend of 23-24 July.

The north-west London club play in Step 5 of the English non-league pyramid, having just gained promotion to the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division for the coming season. It means they have now been promoted in consecutive seasons. They are also the current holders of the Somali British Champions League.

Hilltop perfectly fit the ethos of the Egri Erbstein Tournament, which celebrates the transcendental power of football to unite people from all backgrounds. We very much look forward to welcoming their players, officials and supporters to the United Business Group Stadium at King George’s Field, Tolworth later this month.

Hilltop will play Corinthian-Casuals in the first semi-final of the Egri Erbstein Tournament, kicking off at 12pm on Saturday 23 July. The second semi-final, between Budapesti Atletikai Klub and Sheffield FC, will take place later the same day at 4pm, with the third-place playoff and the final following on Sunday 24 July.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance by booking online or on the gate each day. Weekend passes include all four games across the two days. Single day tickets for either Saturday or Sunday include both games on the day.

fall river marksmen withdraw from the tournament

We are disappointed to announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding their travel plans and the unpredictable current international travel situation, the Fall River Marksmen have withdrawn from the Egri Erbstein Tournament on the weekend of July 23-24.

We were very much looking forward to welcoming the Marksmen to London for the tournament, but we support and understand the decision they have made.

We have already identified a replacement club which fits perfectly with the tournament ethos, and we will be making a separate announcement to reveal them shortly. We look forward to seeing you all at Corinthian-Casuals FC for an incredible weekend later this month.

SHEFFIELD FC COMPLETE LINE-UP FOR 2022 EGRI ERBSTEIN TOURNAMENT

We are delighted to announce that Sheffield FC have accepted our invitation to take part in the second edition of the Egri Erbstein Tournament on the weekend of 23-24 July 2022, thereby completing the line-up for the competition.

The world’s oldest football club will join Hungarian side Budapesti Atlétikai Klub (BAK), the historic American club Fall River Marksmen and the world-famous English amateurs Corinthian-Casuals, who will also host the tournament at the United Business Group Stadium in Tolworth, London.

The tournament will be played over a single weekend and consists of two semi-final ties, to be played on Saturday, followed by a third-place playoff and the final on Sunday.

More details will follow over the coming months, so be sure to follow the Egri Erbstein Tournament on Facebook and Twitter. Visit the About section of the website for more information on the story behind the tournament, or click here to discover more about the life and legacy of its inspiration, Ernő Egri Erbstein.

"We are so pleased with the line-up for the 2022 tournament," said co-founder Dominic Bliss. "Egri Erbstein respected tradition but he also believed in progressive values and I think these clubs reflect that combination perfectly.

"To complete the line-up with the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC, along with a great name from the first golden era of the game in America, in Fall River Marksmen, is fantastic.

"Then it will be really quite special to see Corinthian-Casuals - the current holders, with their great heritage - welcome the original hosts, BAK, to London for the second edition of the tournament. I honestly can't wait."
